Our Story
Born from friendship. Built on honesty.
It started the way most important conversations between Latina women do — in the kitchen, over cafecito, way past when we should've been asleep.
The Night Everything Changed
Valentina and Camila had been inseparable since middle school in Miami — two first-generation daughters of immigrant parents who understood each other in ways no one else could.
But that night at Camila's apartment, stirring sugar into their second cup of coffee at midnight, something shifted.
"Mila, te tengo que decir algo." Her voice was barely above a whisper. "I've never told anyone this."
"I feel sucia. Like something is wrong with me."
The Secret We Never Talk About
"Vale... yo también."
Three words. Three years of silence, broken.
What followed was a four-hour conversation neither woman had ever allowed herself to have.
Camila grabbed a notebook. "¿Y si lo hacemos nosotras?" — What if we build it ourselves?
From Kitchen Table to Lab
The next eighteen months were a whirlwind. Camila obsessed over the science. Valentina focused on the experience.
We didn't start Louva to sell a product. We started it to have the conversation our mothers never could.

The Meaning Behind the Name
Louva
"Louva" comes from the Portuguese word meaning "to praise" or "to celebrate." We chose it because it sounds like love and nueva — a new kind of love.
